Former YSRCP MLA squarely blames Jagan for his defeat

Finally, someone from YSR Congress party has got the audacity and guts to speak up facts about the dismal electoral performance in the recent assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh. Former MLA of YSRCP from Chodavaram constituency Karnam Dharmasri made shocking comments on Jagan Mohan Reddy and attributed his defeat in the elections to the former Chief Minister’s inefficiency.

Karnam Dharmasri, who faced a humiliating defeat just like many other YSRCP contestants in May elections, minced no words in pointing his finger at his party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He squarely blamed Jagan and his ministers for failing to rectify their mistakes in the last five years and said that party lost only because of their grave negligence.

Admitting his defeat and outright public rejection in a press meet, Dharmasri was visibly upset with the way Jagan Mohan Reddy ignored his repeated requests to allot funds for laying roads in his constituency. He said that potholes on BN road highway were not filled by his government which is why he faced a humiliating defeat in the elections. He stated that he spent more than 2 crores own money for repairing roads in his constituency and expressed uncertainty to get reimbursement from the current government.

Dharmasri lost to TDP’s KSNS Raju with a margin of 40,000 votes. He won in 2019 from the same constituency and retained his ticket in 2024 again. But, he ended up losing as the party was decimated all over the state.

While many of the lost candidates haven’t got the courage to speak against Jagan Mohan Reddy, Dharmasri’s comments came as a big surprise to the party cadre.
