The YSR Congress party, which lost in the recent assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh, is struggling big time to counterattack the allegations being made by the present ruling party over the irregularities committed in the last five years when Jagan Mohan Reddy was the Chief Minister of the state.
Immediately after coming to power with a landslide victory in the recent assembly elections, the coalition government of TDP, Janasena and BJP started exposing how the previous regime abused its official position and squandered the government money to feather its own nest. The illegal construction of Rushikonda palace in Vizag and party offices in all 26 districts are the prime examples.
While the TDP and Janasena parties are going all out and attacking the YSRCP with valid and sound proofs over the alleged irregularities committed during 2019-2024, many of its supporters and leaders are unable to defend the decisions taken by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party when it was in power.
As tens of acres of government lands were leased without prior permission from the departments concerned for constructing party offices, there has been widespread criticism from all quarters after it was exposed when the central office in Tadepalli was demolished.
Now, the YSRCP is coming with the narrative that the TDP also did the same thing when it was in power. The official X handle of YSRCP is posting regularly that many offices of TDP were constructed by leasing out government lands at a nominal price when the party was in power. It also alleged that there was no prior permission for any of these buildings and all of them were constructed on encroached lands.
Many started questioning why the YSRCP government was silent all these five years when it was in power instead of exposing the irregularities committed by TDP and all of a sudden started pointing out these mistakes as if it suddenly woke up from slumber now when the party was pushed into opposition.
On the other side, Jagan hasn’t yet responded over these allegations so far. He is keeping silent on Rushikonda palace and party office demolition issues.
