The YSR Congress Party, YSRCP has been battling with a litany of issues ever since its heavy defeat in the recently concluded elections. The party is currently passing through troubled times with judicial troubles getting many leaders into prison while also forcing the resignation of a string of prominent leaders concerned about their political prospects.
Among them are Killaru Roshaiah, Maddali Giri, Sidda Raghava Rao, Alla Nani, former minister, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Samineni Udaya Bhanu, Grandhi Srinivas, and Avanti Srinivas. For that matter, Rajya Sabha members Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, Beeda Mastan Rao, and R. Krishnaiah have resigned from those posts as well as YSRCP. In the aftermath of these exit, most influential leaders have found home in JanaSena party with Pawan Kalyan, party president and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh welcoming them individually.
JanaSena Party office in Mangalagiri witnessed a ceremony on Monday, where leaders like MLC Jayamangala Venkata Ramana and former APCO Chairman Ganji Chiranjeevi joined JanaSena officially. Pawan Kalyan welcomed the new members amid cheers, gifting them the party’s signature scarf as a symbol of their new alliance.
Jayamangala Venkata Ramana of Kaikaluru constituency had resigned recently from YSRCP. Ganji Chiranjeevi, accompanied by his wife Radha of Mangalagiri, too joined JanaSena. Chiranjeevi, who was TDP earlier and joined YSRCP after the 2019 elections, was rumored to contest from Mangalagiri on the YSRCP ticket initially. However, as the party gave a ticket to another candidate who went on to lose, Chiranjeevi split away from YSRCP.
