At a press conference today, AP Congress chief YS Sharmila made provocative statements regarding the recent elections. Sharmila asserted that the YSRCP secured 39% of the votes in the elections, with all voters united against allowing Chandrababu Naidu to reclaim the CM post. She emphasized that those who opposed Chandrababu’s leadership gravitated towards the YSRCP due to the Congress’s perceived weakness.
“Those who voted against Chandrababu didn’t necessarily endorse Jagan Mohan Reddy; rather, they chose the YSRCP as a strategic move against him. These voters primarily hailed from the Congress ranks. They are our own people, and rightfully so,” Sharmila passionately remarked.
Highlighting the significance of this voter bloc, Sharmila asserted, “The 39% who supported YSRCP were predominantly our Congress vote bank. This is a clear mandate that we aim to strengthen and display resoundingly in 2029.”
Sharmila’s statements underscore a strategic political narrative aimed at consolidating support and projecting future electoral ambitions for the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.
