Andhra Pradesh Congress chief YS Sharmila came down heavily on the YSRCP, accusing the party and its affiliates of still being fixated on the TDP despite changing political dynamics. “They are still suffering from yellow fever; even today, when they look in the mirror, they see Chandrababu,” she remarked. Sharmila criticized the ruling party for linking every Congress move to TDP, calling it a sign of insecurity as the Congress gains ground in the state. She said the YSRCP is unable to digest Congress’s independent rise and alleged that it is resorting to baseless accusations out of political desperation.
Sharmila further accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of betraying his father YSR’s ideals by mortgaging Andhra Pradesh’s interests to the BJP-led Centre. “They looted the state for personal gain, attempted to grab public lands under the guise of the Land Titling Act, and backed Modi on every divisive issue,” she alleged. Sharmila also claimed that all major parties in the state—YSRCP, TDP, and Jana Sena—are aligned with the BJP, leaving Congress as the only true opposition. “You fear the rise of Congress. That’s why you’re trying to weaken us with lies and distractions,” she asserted, emphasizing that the Congress will continue its lone battle for the people’s issues.
