YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Narsipatnam Medical College on October 9. He will start the Racchabanda program from October 10 to November 22. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the Racchabanda programs will collect one crore signatures. Each panchayat will contribute at least 500 signatures opposing medical college privatization.
Jagan Mohan Reddy made these decisions during a meeting with party leaders at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Tuesday.Speaking at the meeting, Jagan said, “There will be rallies in the constituency centers on October 28. Party members will submit demand documents to constituency officers, and the YSRCP will conduct district-level rallies on November 12. I will also participate in one district”.
“The signatures collected from the constituency centers will reach the district center on November 23. Officials will flag off vehicles carrying collected signatures at district centers on November 24. Then, the vehicles will head to Vijayawada. He stated the party will officially hand over the collected signatures to the Governor. The program is planned for a later date.
Jagan stated there were no student dropouts during the YSRCP regime. He deplored a decrease of five lakh students during the coalition rule. He alleged that farmers are protesting for fertilizers and that scams are occurring in fertilizer distribution. They have joined hands with middlemen. They have completely damaged the public health system.
Jagan criticized authorities for treating the poor unjustly and pushing them deeper into poverty.
He criticized the coalition government for not providing free quality medical care in the future. “We set up 17 medical colleges during the YSRCP regime with the intention of having a government college in every district. Why does the government run schools, hospitals and buses?”, he asked. If it does not do so, he warned that private companies will rob the people. He warned that if authorities mismanage these institutions, it will lead to serious losses for the people. He slammed CM Chandrababu Naidu for acquiring an additional 50,000 acres for Amaravati and asked why the current land isn’t enough.
Recalling that Chandrababu had said that Rs. He said Rs. 1 lakh crore would be spent on infrastructure for the first 50,000 acres. Now, he expressed astonishment that costs have doubled.2 lakh crore will be spent on infrastructure alone. He expressed anger that medical colleges serve millions and are valuable permanent assets. Yet, they are being sold based solely on trust. Can’t Rs. 5 thousand crores be spent in five years? He asked.
