YS Jagan Approaches Hyderabad CBI Court for Permission to Travel Abroad

YSR Congress Party leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday once again approached the CBI court for modification in his bail conditions. Jagan had earlier been granted bail in the disproportionate assets case under certain conditions, one of which he wants relaxed. Earlier, he was directed by the court to seek permission before making any amendments in the bail conditions, which brought him to the Hyderabad CBI court today with this petition.

Jagan has planned an overseas trip from the 11th to the 15th of this month, during which he intends to visit the United Kingdom with his wife, Bharathi, to meet their daughter studying in London. He has asked the CBI court to relax his bail conditions to make it easier for him to go. The court will consider his plea soon, and the decision by the CBI will be crucial to whether his request will be accepted.

Earlier also, during his tenure in office, Jagan was allowed to travel abroad after relaxing the bail conditions. Another accused in the same case was Vijay Sai Reddy, but now that Jagan is no longer in office, it is up to the CBI to be placed on record about its stand over the petition filed by him. The sources inform that the CBI may not have any objections against Jagan’s forthcoming visit. It will, however, depend on the judge concerned in the courts.
