As the Chandrababu Naidu government began digging into large scale liquor scam during YCP regime, now it is being exposed over sales of liquor with fake Hologram stickers. It was alleged that liquor bottles were moved to the shops directly from the production companies and not from the liquor depots.

The leaders of the alliance are alleging that there were massive irregularities in the tenders related to Hologram stickers for 13.68 crore liquor and beer bottles. It was alleged that liquor was distributed with fake Hologram stickers and tenders were diverted for this purpose.

The leaders of the alliance say that the vigilance investigation on liquor hologram tenders is likely to bring to light many key issues. The government alleges irregularities in the YCP government’s liquor policy. Recently in the assembly Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu released a white paper on the sale of alcohol by the previous government.

The CM himself said that more than Rs.18,000 crores of irregularities were committed in the sales of liquor. He announced that CID will probe into this scam.  There are reports that the vigilance inquiry has feared that a huge scam has taken place in the name of Hologram stickers.

According to the investigation, it is known that the former MD of Beverages Corporation, Vasudeva Reddy, deliberately awarded Hologram tenders to inexperienced companies. TDP, Jana Sena and BJP have been accusing that Jaganmohan Reddy had introduced crazy brands of liquor, produced by benami companies of some key YCP leaders preventing sales of popular brands in the state.

By prohibiting digital payments in liquor sales and allowing only cash transactions, it was alleged massive financial fraud was committed by the ruling party leaders.  CM Chandrababu said that liquor prices were increased by 75 percent during YCP regime, moreover only inferior liquor only allowed damaging the health of a large number of poor people.  Moreover, supplying inferior liquor, the government had almost doubled the prices of alcohol during the previous regime.
