YCP Leaders Mediation Failed To prevent Marri Rajasekhar Resigning As MLC

Hours after senior party leader Marri Rajasekhar announced that he will be leaving the party and also resigning as MLC, YSRCP leaders in AP Legislative Council made hectic efforts to persuade him from moving forward.

When he was about to meet the Council Chairman Moshen Raju to submit his resignation as MLC, leader of opposition Botsa Sathyanarayana and other YCP MLCs tried to prevent him.

But, he expressed his regrets stating that he has already taken a firm decision and submitted his resignation to the Chairman, requesting him to accept it immediately. Marri Rajasekhar’s term is till upto 2029. It seems that he will soon join the Telugu Desam Party after resigning from the YSRCP.

Meanwhile, Marri Rajasekhar seems to be extremely unhappy with the appointment of Vidadala Rajani as the in-charge of Chilakaluripet. He has been staying away from the YCP activities since the day Rajani was appointed as the in-charge of Chilakaluripet. Even mediation by YV Subba Reddy and Ayodhya Rami Reddy also failed to convince him to sail with the party.

Rajasekhar was angry with them and asked how Rajani, who had lost badly in the Guntur West constituency, would be appointed as the in-charge of Chilakaluripet again? Finally, he decided to say goodbye to the YCP. It may be recalled that already four MLCs have resigned from the YCP so far. They are  Potula Sunitha, Balli Kalyana Chakravarthy, Karri Padmasree and Jayamangala Venkataramana.

With the resignation of Marri Rajasekhar, the number of dissatisfied YCP MLCs has reached five. However, it seems that some more YCP MLCs are also ready to follow him.  There is a wide discussion in the council lobby about who will be next.

Speaking in a chat with the media in the Legislative Council lobby, Marri Rajasekhar said that he has resigned as an MLC for the time being.  He said that he will now go to Chilakaluripet and resign from the YCP membership. He said that he will announce his future actions after talking to the activists. Moreover, he said that later he will reveal all the details about the reasons for the resignation.

Meanwhile, three MLCs who have already resigned from the YSRCP have met the Chairman and demanded that their resignations be accepted. While Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy, Karri Padmasree, and Jayamangalam Venkata Ramana have said goodbye to the YSRCP, the Chairman has not yet accepted their resignations. The Chairman said that he will consider it soon. The MLCs insisted that their resignations must be accepted.
