Soon after the AP High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail petition in the Mangalagiri Telugu Desam Party central office attack case, several YCP leaders feared arrest absconding. They switched off their mobiles and were not traceable at their residences.
Former MP Nandigama Suresh, who escaped from Amaravati in the same case, was arrested by the police in Hyderabad. Srinivasa Reddy, the YCP leader of Vijayawada city, and the rest of the accused are out of reach. Jogi Ramesh, Devineni Avinash, Appireddy and Raghuram switched off their phones and ran away.
It is reported that the whereabouts of some of them have been discovered by the police. Former Minister Jogi Ramesh, who is wanted in the attack on Chandrababu’s residence, switched off his cell phones and ran away. Special teams are also searching for him. Devineni Avinash also in his footsteps ran away. Policemen in mufti are guarding the residences of YCP leaders, who are wanted in these cases.
Police suspect they may have gone to hide in cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai, outside the state. In the same case, Vijayawada’s ex-mayor Shailaja’s husband, YCP leader Srinivasa Reddy, also turned off his phones and went into hiding without staying in Vijayawada and Guntur.
Police have formed special teams with the aim of arresting all the accused. Surveillance teams have been deployed at airports as well as ports. 14 others including Devineni Avinash, Appi Reddy, Nandigam Suresh and Talashila Raghuram are accused in the case of attack on TDP central office in Mangalagiri.
All of them filed a petition in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail without arrest. But the bench refused to grant bail. It may be recalled that Devineni Avinash has earlier tried to go to Dubai to escape from this case. However, immigration authorities at Shamshabad Airport prevented him as Mangalagiri police already issued look out notices against all the accused.
