In the Srushti Fertility Case, the police arrested there doctors from Visakhapatnam KGH, including Dr. Vasupalli Ravi Kumar, who is the brother of a key YCP leader. Ravi Kumar continues to be the head of the anesthesiology department and deputy superintendent in KGH. He is the brother of YCP Visakha South constituency in-charge Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar.
Ravi Kumar was transferred during the YCP regime, but returned to KGH on deputation a few days later. The police suspect that Dr Namrata had given Dr. Ravi a huge amount of money in the Srushti case. Dr. Namrata and Dr. Ravi completed their MBBS medical education in the same batch in 1988.
Police have found that 80 percent of the babies sold were brought from agency areas like Araku, Paderu and Odisha. The Hyderabad police investigation found that they identified poor pregnant women and made a pre-agreement with them to sell the babies. The police are investigating whether anyone sold the babies in the agency areas.
Meanwhile, the frauds committed by Dr. Namrata, the organizer of ‘Srishti’ in the name of surrogacy, are coming to light one by one during the police investigation. 30 people have already been arrested along with her.
Dr. Namrata used to convince couples who came to her for children to have children through surrogacy. She would collect sperm and eggs from couples who believed her words and make them believe that they were raising the child in someone else’s womb.
She would buy children born to someone else through agents and give them to the couple as children born through surrogacy, collecting lakhs of money. Meanwhile, it is reported that the police have identified 200 couples who have registered with Shrishti Fertility Centers in Telugu states to have children through surrogacy, believing Namrata’s words.
It is learned that the list has come into the hands of the police. However, how many of them did Namrata’s team provide children to? How many are still undergoing treatment? It remains to be known. The police have already identified that Namrata sold 80 babies.
Were there any couples who had registered for surrogacy among those who took those babies? How many babies were purchased from which state? The police have focused on the issues. Meanwhile, the police investigation revealed that Namrata, who earns up to Rs. 40 lakhs per child in the name of surrogacy, has accumulated assets worth Rs. 25 crore in a short period of time.
