Former finance minister and senior TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has suggested that the money swallowed by the YSRCP leaders should be recovered through the implementation of the Revenue Recovery Act, or some other special law. He has written a letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu making suggestions which would contribute to economic stability for the economic development of the state.
He said that the positive progress measures taken by the coalition government to overcome the economic losses caused by the Jagan government in the last five years are commendable. In addition to supporting the implementation of the election manifesto, Yanamala opined that this would improve the state’s exchequer and financial health.
He said that efforts should be made for streamlining of tax revenues and seeking a higher share of devolution (41 or 42 percent) from the Center. He said that the central government should be requested for more grant-in-aid than at present, with reasonable fixed loans. He cautioned that overdraft facilities should be used with caution.
Also, Yanamala said in the letter that the revenue expenditure should be reduced and the welfare schemes should be targeted at the deserving people. He suggested to stop leakages in capital expenditure and make Andhra Pradesh an industrial destination.
He asked to protect the natural resources that provide abundant income. Yanamala made it clear that financial discipline guidelines like those contained in the FRBM Act should be followed strictly. Thus the deficits should be controlled now and reduced in the coming years, he added.
Similarly, he said that bill payments should be made through CFMS only. In order to speed up the favorable environment for economic progress and prosperity in Andhra Pradesh, he said that rampant corruption should be eradicated. Yanamala expressed hope that the state would achieve sustainable economic growth with Chandrababu’s visionary leadership and commitment to good governance.
