Manchu Vishnu’s ‘Kannappa’ Locks OTT Release

The much-anticipated film Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, is set to release on OTT. The movie will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 4, Vishnu announced on social media. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film had a theatrical release on June 27 and features top actors including Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar in pivotal roles.

Kannappa narrates the journey of Thinnadu (Manchu Vishnu), who grows up in a small forest hut. After losing his mother at a young age, he is raised by his father Nathanathudu (Sharath Kumar). A childhood incident turns Thinnadu into an atheist, though he becomes a skilled archer and protector of his hut and neighboring settlements.

The film explores how Thinnadu, once an atheist, transforms into a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Key elements of the story include his opposition to ancient sacrificial rituals, the steadfast support of Nemali (Preethi Mukundan), and his eventual spiritual awakening guided by Rudra. The narrative also delves into how Goddess Parvati appears as Jnana Prasoonambika in Srikalahasti and the role of Mahadeva Shastri (Mohan Babu) in safeguarding sacred traditions.

With its mix of mythological storytelling and star-studded cast, Kannappa has generated significant buzz, and the OTT release is expected to attract a wide audience.
