As the allegations surrounding the adulteration of Tirupati prasadam became an issue of the entire nation due to the fact that the unsubstantiated claims hurt the sentiments of Hindus, the Supreme Court of India intervened to probe the matter in an impartial manner in the larger public interest. The Court ordered to constitute a five member team led by two officers from state police, two from the CBI and one from FSSAI. The Court directed to conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations and submit the report.
In no time, YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a press conference in Tadepalli guest house on the Supreme Court’s latest comments. Jagan said the court slammed Chandrababu Naidu for making false statements to create communal hatred in the name of god. He said the court pointed out Naidu’s opportunism and vile intention to gain political mileage and divert the attention of the public from raising voice over the failure of the government in the last five years.
Jagan read out the Court’s observations and also expressed displeasure over the Telugu Desam Party’s distortion of the same to malign his image. He said Naidu is a habitual liar and stoops so low to make politically motivated statements on his opponents. He also pointed out that the TTD board chairman also announced that the adulterated ghee was not used in preparation of Laddus.
Surprisingly, Jagan expressed doubts over the transparency of the investigation led by SIT and CBI. He said there is no need for any SIT or BIT in this case as there is nothing to verify because all the allegations are baseless and unbelievable. He also said the report may be tampered or influenced to give out a wrong version. It is quite shocking that Jagan said there is no point in investigating the case.
Jagan’s needless statements didn’t go well with the public because the investigation hasn’t even fully started and he shouldn’t be making such claims at this stage of enquiry. The manner in which Jagan made hasty comments over the probe reflects that he is in fear of CBI enquiry. Why is Jagan afraid of the independent investigation led by the CBI when he is so confident that the TTD board under his regime has not committed any mistakes.
