The highly anticipated first look teaser of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ambitious visual extravaganza ‘Vishwambhara’ was out today morning on the eve of Dussehra festival and it fails to create a strong impact due to the gloosy VFX and the underwhelming presentation. Though the director appears to have mounted the socio fantasy thriller on a grand set-up, the substandard graphics made the teaser look like an outdated product. There is nothing much spark and intensity in the teaser.
Telugu films have gained immense recognition over the past few years because of the larger-than-life canvas and the stupendous visual content which give the feeling of watching Hollywood movies. Technically, Tollywood is way ahead of others. So, there is should be no room for compromise with respect to VFX effects and graphics because moviegoers will have no mercy on filmmakers if the output doesn’t match their high expectations.
From the day it was announced Vishwambhara appeared to be another scintillating visual feast similar on the lines of many recent blockbuster films that were made on massive budget. The flamboyant posters also hinted that the film will set a new benchmark in terms of visuals and technical values. Unfortunately, the teaser fell short of the high expectations.
Those who watched the teaser have started trolling the subpar graphics and outdated VFX effects. Netizens are badly criticizing the director and the production house because the quality of the visuals is very cheap and doesn’t match the scale of the film. Even Chiranjeevi’s looks also didn’t get any appreciation because of the inferior graphics. Chota K Naidu’s cinematography is under intense scrutiny by the viewers.
Director Vassishta proved his calibre with Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara. But, Vishwambhara is a bigger film with a huge star cast and a maasive budget. So, he needs to deliver perfectly in all aspects to satisfy fans and regular audiences. The music composed by MM Keeravani didn’t live up to the hype.
Overall, the teaser yielded a mixed response. The team is now under huge pressure to come up with better output if they want the film strike big at the box office.
