Vishal Says ‘Avan Ivan’ Was the Toughest Role of His Career

Actor Vishal has described his role in Avan Ivan (Telugu title Vadu-Veedu) as the most challenging of his career, stating that he would never take up such a role again regardless of the remuneration offered. The actor said he underwent intense physical and mental strain while portraying the character. The 2011 film, directed by Bala, also starred Arya in a key role.

Speaking on his podcast Yours Frankly Vishal, the actor shared his candid views on film awards, asserting that he does not believe in them — including the National Awards. “How can a panel of seven or eight people decide the best actor or best film? A survey should be conducted to gather public opinion. I’m not saying this because I haven’t won any awards. Even if I get one, I’d throw it away. If it’s made of gold, I’d sell it and donate the money to charity,” Vishal remarked.

The actor further revealed that he prefers performing all his own stunts without using a body double, despite the risks involved. He said he has sustained multiple injuries during action sequences, resulting in a total of 119 stitches so far. The promo of the podcast was released on YouTube on Saturday morning, with the full episode currently streaming. Vishal is presently working on Makutam and Thupparivaalan 2 and is set to collaborate with director Sundar C. for his next project.
