Senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand of1990 batch, took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday evening. He took charge as the CS after special prayers in the first block of the Secretariat. Vijayanand took charge amidst the Vedic blessings of the scholars of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and Vijayawada Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple.
Senior IAS and IPS officers Sai Prasad, MT Krishnababu, TTD EO Shyamala Rao, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Home Department Kumar Vishwajith and others presented him with bouquets and wished him well.
On the other hand, employees bid farewell to Nirab Kumar Prasad, who retired from the service. The villagers of Ayyavaripalle in Rajupalem mandal of YSR district are expressing happiness as Vijayanand, a native of their village, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the state government. Vijayanand’s parents are Kaveti Narasimhulu and mother is Lakshmi Devi.
His father worked as a veterinary officer. The second of the couple’s three sons, Vijayanand completed his primary education in Kanaguduru, Duvvur mandal, and classes 8, 9, and 10 in Pudipatla, Tirupati rural mandal. He did his intermediate from the Government SCNR College in Proddatur and did his engineering from JNTU, Anantapur.
He was selected for IAS in 1992. Later, he served in several districts of the United state. Vijayanand’s wife Jyotirmayi is a housewife. Daughter Yamini Divya is doing her MBA in America. Son Ujjwal has completed his MBBS and is doing his MS in Bangalore.
“I am very happy that my son is the Chief Secretary of the state government. I want him to provide all kinds of services to the people and earn a good name. Coming from a poor family, we know the hardships and sufferings of the common man. I hope to gain the respect of the people with popular decisions” said his father Dr. Kaveti Narasimhulu on this occasion.
