Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed Vijayanand as the new Chief Secretary, issuing official orders to this effect. He will take charge on Wednesday afternoon, succeeding the current Chief Secretary, Neerabh Kumar Prasad, whose tenure ends on Tuesday.
A 1992-batch IAS officer, Vijayanand is presently serving as the Special Chief Secretary for the Energy Department. With his retirement scheduled for November 2025, he brings extensive administrative experience to the role.
Vijayanand has held prominent positions, including APGENCO Chairman in 2022 and CMD of APTRANSCO since April 2023, showcasing his leadership in the energy sector.
