Vijay Deverakonda’s long-awaited film Kingdom directed by Gautam Tinnanuri was released with flair, creating a huge buzz with its audience and fans. With an interesting storyline with a lot of action and revenge, the film generated headlines not only for its content, but also for Vijay’s new, more assertive and bold look, further contributing to the buzz. Expectations were certainly high, but Kingdom seemed to have had no impact at the box-office with mixed reviews and little box office success.
But Kingdom has experienced an unexpected surge in popularity on Netflix. The film has managed to captivate OTT audiences, quickly becoming one of the most-watched films in India.
In Kingdom, Bhagyashri Borse is the lead in the film, and Satyadev has a significant supporting role. Anirudh Ravichander’s scintillating soundtrack of the film, highlighting the high-octane action scenes, makes for a thrilling watch. Sithara Entertainments produced the film, which did not seem to have a successful box office outing, yet has certainly found its crowd on OTT, and one cannot deny that all success metrics are not necessarily based on box office performance.
Even though it stumbled at the box office, Kingdom has become a favorite title to watch on Netflix, with audiences watching the movie from home.
