Vigilance To probe Against Dharma Reddy, Vijay Kumar Reddy

Chandrababu Naidu government has initiated investigation into large scale irregularities and corrupt practices engineered by key officials in YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, who were specially deputed from the central services and acted as ruling party masters.

The first investigation was ordered against TTD former Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy and former Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department T Vijaykumar Reddy. There were numerous complaints against their corruption and irregularities. Moreover they were notorious for their proximity with the former chief minister.

Already the government has initiated a probe into large scale irregularities and corrupt practices in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), after Chief Minister Naidu announced in Tirumala his cleaning of administration will begin from Tirumala. A 40- strong Vigilance and Enforcement Department officials are now probing allegations in-depth.

While a detailed complaint was made against Dharma Reddy by TDP to the DGP, journalist associations gave numerous complaints against Vijaykumar Reddy. Though Reddy attempted to return to his central service in Delhi without getting relieving orders from the state government, he was forced to return back as they refused to rejoin him without relieving order.

The government ordered the Vigilance and Enforcement Department to conduct a detailed probe against these two officers and also issued orders to bring other employees who contributed to their corruption under the ambit of investigation.

There are charges against Dharma Reddy that he committed irregularities in Srivani Trust tickets and collected donations for YSRCP by making use of his office, besides awarding civil contract works beyond budget provisions.

Vijay Kumar Reddy has been accused of corruption to the tune of crores of rupees in the name of advertisements in the Information Department. In this context, it has been stated in the government directives that a full-scale vigilance investigation should be conducted in all aspects.

Meanwhile, the alliance leaders recently complained to Chief Secretary  Nirabh Kumar Prasad against Dharma Reddy and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. They said that both of them have indulged in illegalities and acted contrary to traditions to benefit YSRCP.

They alleged that Dharma Reddy became an instrument for collection of donations for the YSRCP during the elections by misusing his contacts with prominent industrialists and businessmen who visit Tirumala Srivara. The complaint stated that if Dharma Reddy’s mobile phone call data is examined, his political involvement and machinations in Delhi to protect YS Jaganmohan Reddy in criminal cases will be clearly exposed.
