Victims protests Against Former YCP Minister Peddireddy’s Encroachments

The victims have protested against former YCP minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy encroaching on their land worth over Rs 30 crore. The victims reached the encroached land and protested. They said that their struggle will not stop until they get justice.

The locals have alleged that former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has encroached on their land in Chennaigunta on the outskirts of Tirupati. They expressed their concern that they are often receiving threatening calls.  All the victims united and raised slogans against Peddireddy with open arms.

They alleged that they have been fighting a legal battle over land encroachments for some time and that Peddireddy is carrying out illegal construction despite court orders not to undertake any construction.  They said that Peddireddy’s followers are calling and threatening them even though they have all the documents. All the victims have appealed to the coalition government to respond to this in a timely manner and provide them justice.

The victims deplored that “We have been fighting a legal battle over land encroachment for some time now. The court has ordered that no construction should be undertaken in this area. However, Peddireddy is carrying out illegal construction here. Even though we have all the documents, Peddireddy’s followers are calling and threatening us. We demand that the coalition government respond to this in a timely manner and do us justice.”

The authorities have already stepped in to investigate the encroachment of forest land by former minister and Punganur YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy in the Mangalampeta forest area of Pulicherla mandal in Chittoor district. The road laid with funds from the Marketing Department to Peddireddy’s agricultural field was surveyed under the supervision of District Joint Collector Vidyadhari and DFO Bharani.

A joint committee was formed with the District Collector, SP, and Anantapur Forest Conservator. To determine the extent of the road leading to the Peddireddy farm on forest land, a survey was first attempted using a rover. Due to technical problems, measurements were made with tape.
