The Tamil film industry is in grief after the passing of veteran music director M.C. Sabesan (68) and actor Bhoopathi (70) on Thursday. M.C. Sabesan, the brother of well-known music director Devaki Sabesan, began his musical journey with his brother Murali. Together, the Sabesh-Murali duo became a celebrated name in Tamil cinema. Their notable work includes the film Jodi, where their background score perfectly complemented A.R. Rahman’s compositions.
The duo’s career as music directors started with Samudram in 2001 and continued consistently until 2017. Sabesan is survived by his son Karthik Sabesan, his daughter-in-law Jai (an actress), and two daughters. His funeral rites are scheduled for Friday afternoon in Chennai.
