Vasireddy Padma Joining TDP, Eying on MLC

Former AP Women’s Commission Chairperson and YCP’s spokesperson Vasireddy Padma is all set to join the Telugu Desam Party. She will take the veil in the presence of TDP chief and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the 11th or 12th. On Saturday evening, she met TDP’s local Lok Sabha member Kesineni Chinni in Vijayawada.

She is said to be expecting to become MLC from TDP, after her failure to get a MLA seat in YCP. Later, she told the media that she  will join the Telugu Desam Party next week. It is known that Vasireddy Padma resigned from the YSRCP after the results of the general elections this year. She has severely criticized the YCP and its party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

She criticized that the party has come to this predicament because of Jagan’s irresponsible work as the Chief Minister. She accused him of looking down on the party workers who worked for the party. At that time, she was furious that Jagan had failed miserably in running the party and the government.

Although there was initial speculation that she might join Jana Sena after resigning, it did not materialize. She decided to join TDP. Jaggayyapet in NTR district is her home constituency. She had hoped for a YSRCP ticket in the previous elections, but that did not happen. Jagan gave the ticket to sitting MLA Samineni Udayabhanu.

Samineni suffered defeat in this election. After that, she said goodbye to YSRCP. She took the Jana Sena shawl. With this, there was a speculation that Jagan would appoint Vasireddy Padma as the in-charge of Jaggayyapet constituency, but a different decision was taken. The in-charge responsibilities were handed over to Thanniru Nageswara Rao.

At that time, news came that Vasireddy Padma, who was deeply dissatisfied with this, had resigned from YCP. What kind of priority she would get after she took the yellow shawl at the hands of Chandrababu is being discussed.
