Despite facing back-to-back flops, Varun Tej is gearing up for his upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Matka’ under the direction of Karuna Kumar. After a short vacation break, Varun Tej returns to the sets of ‘Matka’ in Hyderabad today.
Mega Prince Varun Tej took to his Instagram handle, shared an update on the film, and posted a photo featuring him holding a vintage telephone. He captioned it, “Back on set after 175 days with new energies and aspirations, ready to bring the retro magic of ‘Matka’ to life! #MATKA”
The new schedule begins at a massive set built in Ramoji Film City to bring the action-packed entertainer to life. Varun Tej is playing one of the most challenging characters and will be seen in a new avatar and in different getups throughout the film.
The earlier unveiled teaser offers a glimpse into the retro magic of “Matka.” The film is anticipated to be a period-action drama based on real-life incidents and is speculated to be a biopic of Ratan Khetri, the world-famous Matka gambler.
Speaking more about ‘Matka’, the film is jointly backed by Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments. Apart from Varun Tej in the lead role, the film stars Naveen Chandra, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles. GV Prakash is composing the musical tunes for this flick.
Slated for a pan-Indian release, the film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. As production progresses, the filmmakers have yet to announce the film’s release date. Stay tuned for exciting updates on this film.
