Vallabhaneni Vamsi Remanded For 14 Days, Remand Report says He Is A `Notorious criminal’

YSRCP leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan has been remanded for 14 days by the Vijayawada Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in a kidnapping case. With this, Vamsi was shifted to the district jail in Hanumanpet, Vijayawada by the police. He will remain in the district jail as a remand prisoner till February 27.

The officials assigned him a remand prisoner number and sent him to the jail cell. Before coming to the jail, the police took Vamsi’s fingerprints and iris at the Suryaraopet police station. “Vallabhaneni Vamsi is a notorious criminal. He has a long criminal history. Law and justice are irrelevant. There are 16 criminal cases against him,” the police said in the remand report submitted to the court.

Before producing him before the Magistrate, Vamsi was interrogated for eight hours by four officers at Krishna Lanka Police Station. “Why did you go to Satya Vardhan’s place? How did you trap him?”… They asked him questions from various angles. It seems that he replied, “I don’t know… I don’t know” to all of them.

Later, at 9.15 pm, he was taken to the Vijayawada Government Hospital for medical tests. After the medical tests were completed, he was produced before the 4th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court at 10.15 pm before Magistrate Rammohan.

A7 and A8 Elineni Sivaramakrishna Prasad and Nimma Lakshmipathi, who were arrested in the same case, were also brought to the court. Another accused, Vamsi’s personal assistant Veerraju, came to the court and surrendered himself.  Arguments on the remand continued even after midnight.

Meanwhile, the remand report stated :”A case was registered against Vamsi and his family on the basis of Satya Vardhan’s complaint regarding the attack on the Gannavaram TDP office. Satya Vardhan’s brother Kiran clarified that he has been under pressure since then to withdraw the complaint. He said that he was threatened with money to withdraw the case, if he did not agree, he would be killed”.

He complained that on the 10th of this month, his brother was forcibly taken away in a car. A case was registered on the basis of Kiran’s complaint and the police started a search for the accused with a total of four teams. On the 13th, they arrested A1 \Vamsi in Hyderabad.

Satya Vardhan testified that  Vamsi pressured him to meet Potti Ramu (A9) regarding the complaint of attack on the Gannavaram TDP office. “As a former MLA and a person of great influence, Vamsi can do anything. As per his orders, Potti Ramu took me to Hanuman Junction. He threatened me and made me sign a statement that I had written saying that I was withdrawing the case”, he confessed.

After that, he was forcibly taken to the court in an AP 40 BG 5005 Creta car. He was made to give his statement there. On the midnight of the 10th, Satya Vardhan was taken to Vamsi in Myhome Bhuja, Hyderabad. He was again threatened to stick to the statement he had given to the magistrate while withdrawing the case. He was tortured severely. He said that if there was a difference, he would kill his family members.

The next day… on Vamsi’s orders, the four accused took Satya Vardhan to Visakhapatnam in a car. There they stayed at Hotel Chandana. On the 12th, they shifted to a guesthouse belonging to A11. The police found out that Satya Vardhan was in Visakhapatnam, went there and rescued him, the remand report added.
