Vallabhaneni Vamsi Remand Again Extended Till April 8

The court has extended the remand of former MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi till April 8 in the kidnapping case of complainant Satya Vardhan in the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram. Along with him, the police have produced four other accused in the court.

A-1 Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, A-4 Ganta Veerraju, A-7 Elineni Venkata Sivaramakrishna Prasad, A-8 Nimmala Lakshmipathi, and A-10 Velpur Vamseela were also produced in the court. It seems that the judicial officer asked Vamsi several questions directly during the interrogation and inquired about the facilities in the jail.

The court had ordered that a mattress and pillow be allowed along with the bed on the petitions filed in the past due to illness. When the magistrate inquired about the facilities in this context, Vamsi said that it was inconvenient to be in a single barracks and requested the magistrate to change the barracks or to provide the facility to keep one or two of the people who were already on remand with him.

The magistrate responded to the circumstances of the petition filed in the past and the hearing at that time. The jail authorities and the police had previously brought to the court’s attention that since he is a former MLA and YSRCP leader, no one else could be kept with Vamsi for security reasons. With this, the magistrate suggested that he be kept in a single barracks from then on.

The magistrate once again mentioned the same issue today. For security reasons, it was clarified that there is no possibility of keeping anyone else with you based on the report given by the jail authorities. Apart from that, he suggested that the health problems be brought to the court’s attention.

Currently, as per the court orders, a bed, pillow and mattress have been provided. If possible, a chair should be arranged. The magistrate responded positively to this and told Vamsi that he would order a chair to be arranged. Later, both the lawyers presented arguments in the court.

Advocate Sathya Sri, while presenting arguments on behalf of Vamsi, requested a positive response in the context of Vamsi being troubled for many days. However, the magistrate said that the arguments would be heard again in the context of the extension of the remand. Later, the magistrate extended Vamsi’s remand until April 8.
