At a time Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself expressing concern over series killings of key witnesses in former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case, the attack on Shabana, the wife of Dastagiri, who turned approver in the case, creating severe uproar.
Dastagiri’s wife revealed that two YSRCP women activists attacked her. She said that she was attacked on Saturday evening in Malayala village of Thondur mandal in Pulivendula constituency, when she went to her relatives house. She filed a complaint with the Thondur police that two women activists barged into her Shabana’s house, deliberately abused her, and attacked her.
Shabana stated in her complaint that two YSRCP activists had threatened and beaten her that they would kill her husband Dastagiri within a year. Shabana revealed that they had beaten her indiscriminately, asking her how dare her husband was brave enough to speak out against Jaganmohan Reddy and Avinash Reddy.
At the same time, the complaint states that even though Dastagiri, who was in another house, had come to the scene with gunmen after learning about the incident, the two women did not back down and used abusive language against the Dastagiri couple at will.
“Two women deliberately came into our house and attacked us by swearing. They warned that Dastagiri would be killed within a year. Even if Dastagiri came immediately, they did not stop and spoke in abusive language”, she said.
She expressed fears that after the death of Watchman Ranganna, who is also a key witness in the murder case, YSRCP workers are conspiring to kill her husband. They are deliberately starting fights and leading to clashes.
Shabana said that even though she has filed a written complaint with the Pulivendula Rural Police in Tondur, no case has been registered so far. Shabana appealed to the government to respond and conduct an investigation into the incident.
She urged that the police should find out who sent Shamshun and Parveen from Malayala village to attack her. Among those who came to her house and threatened, she said that the women repeatedly mentioned Avinash Reddy’s name. She pleaded the police to investigate those who attacked him.
