Kannada actor-filmmaker Upendra Rao is gearing up for the release of his upcoming surrealist psychological action thriller, “UI: The Warner.” The film is written and directed by Upendra himself, who also stars as the main lead. Slated for a pan-Indian release, the film is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
Meanwhile, the makers have unveiled an intriguing trailer of this film today, offering a glimpse into a dystopian future set in 2040. The glimpse unveils a world ravaged by suffering, poverty, and corruption, painting a grim picture of humanity’s decline.
The UI trailer teases a gripping and thought-provoking storyline, portraying a world where there is no humanity. The costumes and cinematography added another layer to the dystopian setting. Upendra’s enigmatic character adds an air of suspense to the narrative, showcasing him in a futuristic outfit. The promo has a line that describes the film, “The world leaders gifted U & I with global warming, COVID-19, inflation, AI, unemployment, and wars.
Produced by Lahari Films and Venus Entertainments, the movie stars Reeshma Nanaiah as the female lead alongside Upendra, with a talented supporting cast, including Murali Sharma, Sunny Leone, Jisshu Sengupta, Nidhi Subbaiah, Sadhu Kokila, Murali Krishna, and Indrajit Lankest in key roles.
Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music for this flick. It was earlier announced in 2022 and is finally releasing on December 20 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
