Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that three industrial corridors are being developed in AP under the Industrial Corridors Development Program. Speaking to the media in Vijayawada, he said that the Polavaram Irrigation Project will be funded and completed quickly. He said that Amaravati, Kakinada, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam cities have been selected under the Smart Cities Mission.
He said that out of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the civil/defense sector across the country, 8 are in Andhra Pradesh. He announced that the airports in Tirupati and Vijayawada are being developed as international airports. He said that more than 4,741 km of national highways have been constructed in Andhra Pradesh.
Puri said that 5 green field corridors have been constructed under the Bharatmala project. He said that 2,525 km. of national highway corridors are being developed in Andhra Pradesh under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-1. He said that Rs. He reminded that the foundation stone for 14 packages of the Bangalore-Kadapa-Vijayawada Express Highway worth Rs 14,000 crore has been laid.
He clarified that Rs 886 crore has been allocated to both the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from 2009-2014. He said that an additional 11 times Rs 9,417 crore has been allocated to Andhra Pradesh in 2024-25.
He explained that the construction of a new 57 km line between Errupalem-Amaravati and Nambur will be completed in 5 years. The Union Minister said that Andhra Pradesh has been 100% electrified. He said that six Vande Bharat trains are running in Andhra Pradesh.
Appreciating AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is a dynamic leader and striving hard for the development of the state, Puri said that both Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan are frequently meeting him in Delhi seeking clearence to various projects of the state.
He said that they are also meeting several Union Ministers to approve many projects and said that the Central Government will provide all possible support for the development of AP. He said that the people will be provided with spirituality and happiness through the tourism temple. He reminded that Prime Minister Modi dedicated AIIMS Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh to the nation.
