Union Minister Bandi Sanjay has advised BRS Working President KTR to ask his father why permission was granted for the VLF radar center in Damagundam, Vikarabad district, as it was the KCR government that gave the approval.
KTR has been opposing the radar center’s establishment in Damagundam forests, prompting Sanjay’s response. He questioned, “How can you oppose something that your own government approved while in power?” He further stated that opposing the setup of a defense security system is akin to opposing national interests.
Sanjay criticized the BRS, claiming that despite the public giving the party a lesson in the recent parliamentary elections, no change has occurred. He mentioned that the radar center issue has been pending for 14 years, and they were finally able to proceed with the foundation ceremony, for which he expressed joy. He credited Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for making it possible.
Sanjay reminded that it was during the BRS regime that the approval for the radar system was granted, with 2,900 acres of land being transferred in 2017. He said it was inappropriate for KTR to oppose it now and suggested that central and state governments, along with all political parties, should work together on national security issues.
