TTD preparing To provide Aadhaar-Based Services To devotees

TTD is preparing to provide Aadhaar-based services to the devotees who come for darshan of Srivaru in Tirumala. TTD EO Mr. J. Shyamala Rao said that permission has been received from the central government for this and the notification will be issued soon from the state government.

He said at `Dail your EO’ program, that this will facilitate middle-men who are abusing the services of darshan, accommodation, Srivari Seva etc. he said.

Meanwhile, he said that TTD has introduced a policy of providing laddoos with Aadhaar to those who do not have darshan tokens from 29th August with the aim of providing laddu prasadams to all the devotees in a more transparent manner.

“For the past few years, we have found that many middlemen are involved in black marketing of laddus. TTD has taken steps to stop the broker system in Tirumala and provide enough laddoos to every devotee who visits the Lord. As part of this, TTD has decided to issue only two daily laddoos on Aadhaar card to those who do not have darshan tokens”, he added.

Also, responding to devotees’ appeal for a long time, he said that the TTD has sent about 75,000 laddus during the last four days at TTD temples in places like Chennai, Bangalore and Vellore. At Tirumala, he said devotees having darshan tickets can avail one free laddu and as many laddus as they want at the price of Rs 50 each. For this, no Aadhar card is needed.

According to the recommendations of the cow ghee expert committee, to increase the quality of laddu prasadams, to purchase ghee with fragrance, color and taste, Shyamala Rao said that they are purchasing quality ghee according to the existing tender conditions. He made it clear  that contractors who supplied adulterated ghee in the past have been blacklisted.

The Executive Officer said that the annual Brahmotsavam of Srivaru will be performed from 4th to 12th of next month and steps are being taken to re-open the Divya Darshan token issuing counters at Alipiri footsteps. The scanning counters at Galigopuram are coming soon for devotees coming on foot.
