The AP Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh has made it clear that the coalition government in AP is providing adequate encouragement to the event management sector, which plays a key role in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Minister Kandula Durgesh, along with top officials of the state tourism department Ajay Jain and Amrapali Katalu, attended the prestigious annual event of the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMAGINE-2025) being held from August 1-3 at the Fairmont Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
On this occasion, they discussed with several event managers at the exhibition organized by the APTDC. They explained in detail the Swarnandhra Tourism Vision 2029 and the opportunities for tourism growth in AP. He said that efforts are being made to increase employment opportunities along with the economic development of the state through this sector.
Minister Durgesh said that it has been decided to attract tourists through innovative ideas and creative programs. Telling the investors that AP tourism has industrial status, he explained the new tourism policy, procedures, state resources, and the need for event management participation in tourism development.
On this occasion, they explained to the investors that if AP invests in tourism, it is our responsibility to provide assurance. Minister Durgesh said that now, if any program is to be undertaken in any sector, the participation of the event management industry is mandatory. He said that in the last 6 months, the AP government has signed MoUs with more than 85 famous hotels and MICE.
The Minister also said that Rs.10,655 crores of investments have been made. He said that 8163 rooms will be created and 7 MICE convention centers will be established. He said that through these, 22325 people will get direct and indirect employment in the next four years.
Minister Durgesh urged investors to come forward to invest in the public-private partnership model and to take advantage of this opportunity. He said that the AP tourism sector has a target of 50,000 rooms and an investment of Rs. 25,000 crore. The state has already received tourism investments of Rs. 11,000 crore and MoUs have also been signed with relevant institutions.
