Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh has promised that Tirupati district will be developed as a major tourist destination and that special activities will be planned to develop the surrounding areas and tourist destinations of Tirupati in the coming days.
During his visit to Tirumala with his family member, Minister Durgesh said that having the divine darshan of Vaikuntha Srinivasa with his family was an indescribable experience and on this occasion, he prayed to the Lord for the well-being of the people of the state and for the state to move forward on the path of development.
After visiting Tirumala Srivari, Minister Kandula Durgesh told the media that the district administration, tourism and endowment department officials will participate in a meeting to be held in Tirupati on August 7 and 8 for tourism development. He said that all the various areas and tourist destinations in Tirupati district will be organized as a tourism circuit.
He said that they are planning to lay the foundation stone for the development work of the Gandikota tourism project, which was sanctioned under the Central Government’s Shaski scheme, on August 1st by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He said that with the creation of industrial status for the tourism sector and the announcement of a new policy, many investors are coming forward to establish five-star hotels in Tirupati and Vizag areas under the PPP model.
He also said that water sports and beach resorts will be established on the long coastline of the state. He said that efforts are being made to establish a cruise between Vizag and Chennai. He said that they are working to bring the sea plane to a full level. He said that the Rishikonda Palace will be renovated to be useful for the people.
He said that under the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, they are working hard to develop the tourism sector like never before. He said that if the previous government completely neglected the tourism sector, the coalition government would have taken the lead.
