Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi Secures Legal Protection for Personal Rights

Senior Tollywood actor and megastar Chiranjeevi has won a crucial interim order at the Hyderabad City Civil Court, preventing the unauthorized use of his name, photographs, and titles for commercial purposes. Judge S. Sashidhar Reddy issued the order, ensuring protection of the actor’s personality and publicity rights.

The court’s directive prohibits any entity—including online clothing brands, digital media platforms, and YouTube channels—from using Chiranjeevi’s name, titles such as “Megastar” or “Chiru,” his photographs, or voice in commercial advertisements without his prior consent.

In his petition, Chiranjeevi highlighted that several companies had been exploiting his identity for commercial gain without authorization, causing damage to his reputation and financial loss. The court observed that such unauthorized use could result in irreparable harm to the actor’s image and ordered immediate cessation of all such infringements.

The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for the 27th of this month. In recent years, many film celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, and Nagarjuna, have also sought court protection to safeguard their personality rights against unauthorized commercial use.
