Burning of key files in prime departments has continued in AP since the change of government. As the new government has started the process of probing into large scale irregularities and corrupt practices during the previous regime, officials who were colluded with YCP leaders became panicked and resorted to burning of files, to destroy evidence.
It was started with the CID Task Force office during the election period and very recently files were burnt at Polavaram Left Canal office in Dhavaleswaram. Even before authorities seriously looked into it, files were burnt in Tirupati at the TTD administrative building. As a result, now it became clear that these burning incidents were not accidents, but of intentional acts.
Also believed to be part of a large scale conspiracy to destroy evidence of mischiefs related to the previous government.
There are accusations that some officials are deliberately burning files so that their mistakes will be exposed because of corruption in the previous government. These file burning incidents are also indicating that still several officers, who were benefited in the corruption regime of the previous government continue to be loyal and doing their best to help them.
A fire broke out in the engineering department on the first floor of the TTD administration building. The fire broke out around 3:00 p.m. before the firemen arrived and the fire was extinguished by the crew. According to the staff, the fire started due to the paper sticking to the lamp lit for the puja.
Doubts are being expressed about this incident. While the vigilance investigation on TTD engineering works is going on, many files are being burnt in the same section. The staff informed the TTD superiors about the fire incident late. TTD Chief Vigilance and Security Officer Sridhar and Tirupati District SP Subbarayudu inspected the spot.
Meanwhile, many suspicions are being expressed about the burning of files at Polavaram project office in Dhavaleswaram without the permission of the higher officials. Moreover, the sweeper, who had burnt the files is not present after the incident as she left for Visakhapatnam.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, who inspected the office, warned that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the burning of Polavaram files. He expressed anger that the staff acted negligently. He wondered how Rajamahendravaram RDO could give a statement to the media that only xerox papers were burnt. He deplored that some officials are intentionally trying to destroy the evidence of corruption that happened during the previous government.
