Former Minister and BRS leader KT Rama Rao has criticized the Revanth government’s implementation of free travel for women on RTC buses in Telangana, labeling it as a scheme that will come at a hefty cost. He warned the public about the illusion of “free,” predicting an imminent rise in bus fares due to the financial strain caused by the scheme. KTR pointed out that similar initiatives in Karnataka had already forced fare hikes to cover losses, citing reports of KSRTC incurring a significant deficit of Rs 295 crore. “There’s always a price behind ‘free’,” remarked KTR, BRS working president.
