Thandel Notches Up 40 Crores In Two Days

Naga Chaitanya’s latest release Thandel continues to mint solid revenues at the ticket windows during the first weekend. In two days, the film notched up over 40 Crores gross and heading towards the 50 Crore mark. Trade circles are expecting a huge Sunday in all regions because of the strong advances.

Thandel emerged as the career biggest opener for Naga Chaitanya with 21.27 Crores gross on the first day. On Saturday, the film continued the momentum and amassed close to 20 Crores gross to take the two days total to 41.20 Crores. The makers unveiled a new poster to announce the two days collections and termed it as ‘Blockbuster Love Tsunami’.

The trend of bookings for Sunday is very encouraging and the film is likely to have another terrific show at the box office. However, the film will have to continue its hold on weekdays to break even for its buyers. Considering the February release and not having any festival advantage, the performance of the film so far is  very impressive.

Naga Chaitanya’s commendable performance and Sai Pallavi’s acting masterclass transported audiences into an emotional journey despite a few shortcomings in the narration and the direction. Devi Sri Prasad’s music and heartfelt background score turned out to be the biggest asset for the film.
