While Macherla police are now facing the heat of colluding with local YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who was found to be main conspirator in all poll- related violent incidents in the constituency, a new tension prevailed on Thursday after TDP given a call for `Chalo Macherla’.
On one hand, police are struggling hard to arrest Pinnelli in the case of destroying EVM on the polling day and he is absconding. In this background, the authorities have implemented probationary orders under Section 144 in Macherla to prevent TDP’s marches in the city.
Checkposts have also been set up on the roads leading to Macha\erla to prevent entry of TDP activists into the town and also to inspect every vehicle entering the town. They are taking suspects into their custody.
The police have warned that no political marches will be allowed in Macherla. However, senior TDP leaders have announced that they will go to Macherla. As a result the police are on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, several TDP leaders were placed under house arrest by the police in anticipation of the ‘Chalo Macherla’ event. TDP gave a call this evening to visit the victims who were injured in violence during the recent poll- related violent incidents in the area.
Former minister Nakka Ananda Babu, TDP Macherla candidate Julakanti Brahma Reddy and Kanaparthi Srinivasa Rao were among those who were prevented from leaving their homes by the police. This decision was made as a precautionary measure to avoid any potential incidents or confrontations during the planned visit.
TDP leaders have expressed their frustration and anger at being unable to visit their injured workers and have criticized the police’s actions. Despite their protests, the police have maintained their stance and have enforced strict restrictions to ensure the safety and security of the area.
