Visakhapatnam: Prominent members of the Telugu film industry convened a crucial meeting in Visakhapatnam on Thursday to address key operational issues. Held in Dondaparthi, the meeting brought together leading producers, distributors, and exhibitors to discuss matters related to theatre management, ticket pricing, and revenue-sharing structures.
Producers C. Kalyan, Sravanthi Ravikishore, Bharat Bhushan, and Sudhakar Reddy were among the notable participants. According to sources, the discussions focused on resolving challenges faced by industry stakeholders and included deliberations on the formation of a dedicated committee to oversee these concerns. A formal decision on the committee is expected following the conclusion of the meeting.
The development comes in the backdrop of recent remarks made by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan. He had criticised the Telugu film industry for failing to engage with the state government since the formation of the new coalition administration. Questioning whether any representatives had even made a courtesy call to the Chief Minister in the past year, he asserted that going forward, only official representatives from film bodies would be invited for discussions—ruling out informal or individual-level meetings.
