Telangana RTC Employees’ JAC served strike Notice

After a gap of four years, Telangana RTC employees’ JAC has given a strike notice to the RTC management. Trade union leaders gave a strike notice to the officials at Bus Bhavan on Monday. The RTC trade unions stated in the notice that the government should implement the previous promises.

They made it clear that the government should merge RTC employees and implement 2 PRCs. They also demanded that the CCS and PF money of Rs. 2,700 crore be paid immediately. The trade unions stated in the notices that they would go on strike if these were not fulfilled.

The RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) has accused the government of trying to privatize the RTC. The JAC expressed impatience that private companies are purchasing and maintaining electric buses. It demanded that the government itself purchase electric buses.

They expressed their anger over the fact that trade union elections were not held, unions were dissolved and working hours were increased for workers. RTC trade unions demanded that the promises made by the Telangana government be implemented immediately.

RTC JAC Chairman Eduru Venkanna, Vice Chairman Thomas Reddy and Convener MD Maulana made it clear in a statement that this decision was taken at a meeting held at the Employees Union central office on Wednesday, the 22nd of this month. They criticized the Congress government for not implementing the promises made to Telangana RTC employees even after a year of coming to power.

They mainly accused RTC of being tied up with corporate companies in the name of electric buses of private companies. They demanded that the government provide financial assistance for the purchase of electric buses and that the subsidies and incentives given to corporate companies be given directly to RTC.

Meanwhile, RTC workers say that since the Congress government came to power, they have not been paying attention to them and are not solving their problems. RTC workers are expressing dissatisfaction over the failure to merge the RTC with the government as promised in the elections.

The workers are concerned that there is a possibility of job loss due to electric RTC buses. They are also concerned that the RTC will go into the hands of private individuals. The workers are complaining that the workload has also increased due to the free bus scheme for women implemented by the government.
