Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has dismissed the Rail Roko case against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, providing him legal relief.
The case stemmed from an incident on October 15, 2011, during the Telangana statehood agitation, when a Rail Roko protest was held in Secunderabad. Following the protest, police registered cases and arrested several individuals. The case remained pending in the Special Court for Public Representatives, where the public prosecutor argued that the Rail Roko was carried out based on KCR’s call.
However, KCR’s legal counsel contended that he was not present at the protest site during the incident. After reviewing arguments from both sides, the High Court ruled in his favor and dismissed the case.
