Telangana HC Rejects KCR, Harish Rao Pleas Against Ghosh Report

The Telangana High Court on Friday rejected the petitions submitted by K. Chandrashekar Rao and  T. Harish Rao, who had moved for interim relief against the report submitted by Justice P.C. Ghosh regarding alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.

During Thursday’s proceedings, the bench questioned whether the State Government intended to take action on the report immediately or only after presenting it in the Assembly. On Friday, the Advocate General clarified that the report would first be tabled in the Assembly, thoroughly debated, and only then would follow-up action be taken.

Considering this assurance, the High Court ruled that there was no necessity for interim orders, which comes as a setback to KCR and Harish Rao.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already confirmed that the report will be officially placed before the Assembly, copies shared with all MLAs and MLCs, and a comprehensive discussion will be held.

Legal experts point out that both leaders had earlier appeared before the commission, and questioning its validity at this stage weakens their legal argument. Now that the court has refused to provide any assistance, the way is clear for the government to bring the Justice and to proceed with the next steps.
