“Telangana Govt. Takes Kanch Gachibowli Land Dispute to Supreme Court”

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court in connection with the ongoing land dispute involving the Kanch Gachibowli area within the University of Hyderabad campus. The case is scheduled for hearing on April 16.

In the affidavit, the government asserted that the disputed land in Kanch Gachibowli is government property. It stated that the University of Hyderabad, along with several other institutions and a bus stand, are located on these lands. The government further noted that the 400-acre parcel has been under litigation for over two decades, during which time the area has gradually developed forest-like characteristics due to the growth of trees.

Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has been in New Delhi over the past two days coordinating with senior legal experts to prepare the affidavit. The document was formally submitted to the Supreme Court today.
