The Telangana government is prepared to enact legislation on Scheduled Caste (SC) categorization, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced. He stated that the Cabinet has taken a decision in this regard and is ensuring that there are no legal hurdles in the future.
Detailing the Cabinet’s resolutions, Ponguleti said, “We have decided to develop 30,000 acres from ORR to RRR as a Future City. Seven mandals comprising 54 villages have been designated as FDCA zones. The region between Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam Road has been earmarked for Future City development. Additionally, 90 posts have been sanctioned exclusively for this project. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will also be significantly expanded to include 11 districts, 104 mandals, and 1,355 villages. As part of this expansion, 332 new revenue villages will be established under HMDA’s jurisdiction.”
He further announced that the government aims to empower one crore women as lakhpatis. “We have decided to bring all women’s self-help groups under one umbrella. The membership age limit for these groups has been set between 15 and 65 years,” he added.
Additionally, the government has decided to establish a Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Board, similar to TTD. A new tourism policy will also be formulated, with plans to develop 27 new tourist destinations across the state.
