The Telangana government has officially released new guidelines for the issuance of ration cards, with distribution set to begin on January 26. This move aims to address long-standing pending applications for new ration cards and bring resolution to numerous requests.
As per the recommendations of the Cabinet subcommittee, the selection of beneficiaries will follow a meticulous process. After reviewing applications, the list of families without ration cards, based on the caste census survey, will be forwarded to district collectors and GHMC commissioners for field verification.
At the mandal level, the MPDO and municipal commissioners will be tasked with overseeing the entire process. A draft list of eligible families will be publicly displayed at village and ward meetings, read aloud, and subsequently approved for further processing.
