The Telangana state government has extended the deadline for the commission investigating the Kaleswaram project by an additional two months. The extension comes amid ongoing allegations of significant irregularities in the project, which led the Congress government to establish the commission. Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja announced today that the term of the Justice P. C. Ghose Commission has been extended until the end of October.
The Revanth Reddy government had appointed the commission, led by former Supreme Court judge Justice P. C. Ghose, to examine the Medigadda, Sundilla, and Annaram barrages. The commission’s term, initially set to expire in June, was first extended by two months and has now been prolonged further to allow the inquiry to continue.
