Telangana BJP chief Rao says They will contest All seats In Local Body polls, candidates selection process Began

Announcing the commencement of selection of party candidates for local body polls, state BJP President N Ramchander Raoasserted that the party has a good opportunity to serve people as they have been looking towards BJP for a good governance and development of the state.

Speaking to media at Karimnagar, the party chief said first names of  ZPTC ( Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency ) candidates would be finalised and the party would issue  “B-forms” wherever party candidates would be selected unanimously. He stated that the BJP will contest all seats from ward members to ZPTC level and expressed hope that the party will secure majority seats in the elections.

The BJP has held a meeting with its office bearers, MLAs, MPs, district in-charges after release of local elections schedule notification  by State Election Commission and decided to commence process in selecting party candidates, Rao said

He said directions have been issued to district party presidents to begin process of selection of candidates for local body elections. Rao urged  people to support the BJP to ensure the development and improvement of their villages.

Rao alleged that  previous BRS government has destroyed the local body system by diverting central funds meant for development of villages which led sarpanchas resorting to suicide due to severe financial crunch and they were unable to pay even electricity bills of their offices.

He criticized the present Congress government for failing to implement its promises, such as the Rythu Bharosa (farmer assurance scheme) whereas over 32 lakh farmers in Telangana were getting benefits directly under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He stressed that all development in villages including roads, nurseries, and the ‘water-to-every-household’ scheme, was being executed with central government funds.

Rao criticised the two-year delay in conducting the local body elections and said the issue of 42 per cent BC reservation amendments could have been resolved earlier. He alleged that the state government was forced to hold the elections reluctantly only after the High Court directive, mainly to secure Central funds.

He made it clear that the BJP always committed to BC reservations and the conduct of the elections,  he said adding that the Congress should take constitutional responsibility for the situation, hinting that Congress leaders may have approached the court.
