Hyderabad: The ongoing Telangana Assembly session saw Chief Minister Revanth Reddy make a significant announcement on Friday. Addressing the issue of working conditions for security guards, fourth class employees, and police home guards, the CM responded to a proposal aimed at allowing these employees the right to sit during their working hours.
Currently, fourth class employees often stand for 10-12 hours a day. The proposal seeks to alleviate this by granting them the right to sit during work hours. Noting that a similar policy is already in effect in Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister stated that the Telangana government would examine the existing modalities and discuss the feasibility before making a decision.
The CM’s response has sparked new hopes among lakhs of fourth class employees who endure long hours of standing. Many are not allowed to sit during their working hours, adding to the physical strain of their jobs. If the government takes a positive decision, these employees would be relieved of the hardships they have faced for many years, creating a sense of optimism and happiness among this workforce.
