Telangana Assembly passes BC Reservation Bill, PC Ghogh Commission Report presented

The BC Reservation Bill, which has created a sensation across the Telangana state, has finally been approved by the Assembly on Sunday. It has lifted the limit imposed by the previous government on reservation in panchayats and has provided 42 percent reservation for BCs. Minister Seethakka gave the BC Bill its approval in the Assembly.

Along with the BC Bill, the Panchayat Raj Act 285A Amendment Bill and the Municipal Act Amendment Bill were also approved under the leadership of the Congress government. Former Minister and BRS leader KT Rama Rao said that they welcome the BC Reservation Bill. He also alleged that the Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Bill introduced with the BC Bill lacks political, social and economic conditions.

He recalled that they were partners in the UPA government in the past. He said that KCR had previously suggested setting up an OBC ministry. He stated that his party had made BCs the Speaker and Council Chairman. He said that KCR had fought many battles for BCs in the past. He made it clear that a constitutional amendment should be made to remove the 50 percent ceiling.

On the other hand, the government introduced the Kaleshwaram Commission report in the House. The MLAs were given the Justice PC Ghosh Commission report in a pen drive. The state government also introduced the Municipal and Panchayat Raj Amendment Bill and the Allopathic Private Medical Care Establishments Bill in the House.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that key issues have come to light in the Kaleshwaram Commission report. He alleged that the construction of Medigadda was undertaken without proper planning and there were complete flaws in the planning and construction of 3 projects. He was angry that the previous government did not pay attention to the suggestions of the expert committee that there were mistakes in Kaleshwaram.

Revanth Reddy made it clear in the report that the underground conditions were not taken into account. He said that the report revealed that there were flaws in the design and construction quality of Kaleshwaram. He said that the soil estimates in Annaram Barrage were wrong. He criticized that there were flaws in the supervision of the work.

He said that the PC Ghosh report also says that there were flaws in the CWC permissions of the project. He criticized that the rules for increasing estimates were relaxed for the benefit of contractors. He accused that the estimates were revised with malicious intent to benefit the agencies. He clarified that the report stated that the estimates were revised and caused loss to the treasury.
