Amaravati: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leadership has issued a directive to its leaders, instructing them to refrain from making public statements regarding the demand to appoint Nara Lokesh as Deputy Chief Minister. The party emphasized that sensitive issues would be addressed collectively by alliance leaders and warned against imposing personal opinions on the party’s agenda.
The directive follows comments made by Kadapa district president Srinivasa Reddy during Chief Minister Chandrababu’s visit to Mydukuru, where he suggested that Nara Lokesh be given the Deputy CM post. His remarks were later echoed by former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, former Pitapuram MLA SVSN Varma, and Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Vasu.
The party clarified that these statements were individual opinions and not representative of TDP’s official position. The leadership underscored the importance of maintaining discipline and avoiding public commentary on such sensitive matters, reiterating that all decisions would be made internally through discussions among alliance leaders.
TDP leaders have been strictly instructed to avoid further media discussions on this issue.
